Merel

Durban based wordsmith Senzo Ngcobo better known as Merel in the underground Hip Hop circles is a prolific MC that came to prominence in 2007 when his debut project "Is'qubulo Mixtape" was released to critical acclaim. His 2008 follow up self-titled "Merel EP" solidified his place in the Durban Hip Hop scene as one of the most prolific Zulu lyricists to ever grace the microphone. Merel has appeared in notable publications such as Hype Magazine (South Africa's Number 1 Hip Hop Mag) and featured on the Hype Sessions Mixtape in 2010. 2011 saw him release another classic project with long time collaborator Njabs Da Beatmaker titled "The Devil in Me EP".

Between 2012 and 2021, Merel has racked up notable accolades to his resume with appearances in community TV channels such as 1KZNTV to notable radio stations like Gagasi FM, Y-FM, Metro FM & Ukhozi FM. The wordsmith's quest for greatness continues as his latest single "Jabulani" (produced by Njabs Da Beatmaker) unleashes another one of his many talents behind the microphone with his storytelling ability coming into full display leaving audiences captivated in awe.
