Meristem started off as a solo project of Bence Barkóczi in the fall of 2017. After releasing two experimental Eps, Soma Schiszler joined the project as a bass player in the beginning of 2019. Besides delivering the low-end within their records, he worked as the mixing-engineer of the band as well. The two forming members decided to expand the group thus they could perform as a conventional band. Therefore, they asked Gergő Varga on guitar, Márió Szirota on drums and the two vocalist Tamás Stefán and Milán Rockov. They first collaborative EP entitled ‘Necrosis’ was released in 2022.
