Meruked brings the meaning of Everlasting/Forevermore/Eternity. Emerging in 2016, Meruked hail from Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia, The band approaches their music by infusing modern, tribal rhythmic music with the traditional native lute instrument, the Sape. It cements a strong sense of identity of where they come from, soaring high with their energetic, euphoric and ambient soundscapes. Their mutual counterparts At Adau, Sada Borneo, Matthew Ngau Jau and Alena Murang all have inspired Meruked to create their own path. Their vibrant presence on stage has seen them propel in the small Malaysian music scene, playing shows in and around the country, even being in the same lineup as Yuna and Sheila Majid. They have also opened for Kyoto Protocol. In 2018, they headlined the Introduction Stage for the Rainforest World Music Festival, buidling a strong and dedicated fanbase. Later on, Meruked guess-starred as speakers for TEDTalks in their hometown. They wrapped it up by releasing a live demo recording of their songs. Meruked are Syed Ashraf, Gideon Langub, Abdul Farouq, Syafiq Harzmi, Titus Ron and Athif Azfar.
