MESS is a Venezuelan artist based in Berlin. He specializes in making Boom Bap beats which are often described as “LoFi Hip-Hop”. To make these, MESS samples a wide variety of vinyl from his own collection. In addition to making beats, the artist also creates digital art in the form of illustrations and animations.
MESS moved from his home country to Germany after finishing high school, which is when he began his journey as a producer and beatmaker. His interest in producing music began when he was listening to an Argentinian radio show and heard the host producing a beat from beginning to end. Because of this, MESS began making music during quarantine which turned into a passion rather than a hobby.
