Metalium formed first in 1985, one of the first thrash metal bands from Istanbul, Turkey. Their first demo tape “Servants of Death” was released in 1989. It was distributed, reviewed and broadcast in U.S.A.
They released their first album “Behind the Power” in 1990 and fan favorite second album “Suffer” in 1995. Both albums were re-mastered in 2015 by Grammy award winning sound engineer Emily Lazar in NY City and re-released in CD format.
The band was very active with live performances throughout the nineties then took a long break until they recently started showing up in some major music events in Turkey. In 2020, after 25 years they finally put out their long awaited comeback album.
Metalium’s latest album “Tenebris” features the aggressive sounds of old school metal, influenced by European thrash with a touch of death metal and played with tones of high energy.
