Well-known Mexican vocal/acoustic duet Mexicanto was formed in December of 1985 in Culiacán by Sergio Félix and David Filio. Inspired by a music style which has been internationalized by artists such as <a href="spotify:artist:4rUyBlggM5tZUH5QZn9ZuO">Silvio Rodríguez</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:4vOfKh5wz7lTcdqB3EwsC5">Pablo Milanes</a>, Mexicanto recorded and released their first album in 1987.
