Hello! My name is Mia, and I love music, whether it's jamming out to bops in the car or staying up til the wee hours of the morning to cook up a song or two. Thanks for joining my journey of songwriting and music making :) new music coming soon!

Behind the Song:
Lazy Day
“Lazy Day” began as a journal entry in January 2021. The stumbling of words resembled a songlike quality that inspired me to grab my guitar and turn the fragments into a tune. I didn’t think much of it at the time, but the stream-of-consciousness and faltering pitches reflected an internal yearning that I felt throughout quarantine.
Months later, I attended YYGS, and Professor Pierre Saint-Amand serendipitously gave a lecture on the “Pursuit of Laziness.” Within that hour, I finally realized why I “want one more lazy day.”
Downtime provides a space without constraints. Artists have the liberty to forget time and instead completely immerse themselves in their work. When producing music in my bedroom, I often lose track of time, retiring at three or four a.m. While some say to create is to take action and that laziness is inaction, it is in being “lazy” that artists can flourish and create something beautiful.
“Lazy Day” expresses my longing for more time to create without constraints.
