Mia Rio

Mia Rio is a recording artist, songwriter, and actress combining Pop sounds with meaningful lyrics, a storyteller exploring life and faith through the Arts.

Born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Mia is the eldest of two sisters, having spent most of her years in the capital of the country, Brasília, before moving to America in her early adult years.
Mia started her artistic path in church musical theater at an early age, later performing in worship teams, school and church choirs, dance teams, and street theater. Mia's love for God and music drove her to start the Brazilian Worship Music group 'Arca' along with her best childhood friend. Mia's love for sets and screens led her to engage in studies in Journalism and Advertising at the Universidade de Brasilia (UnB).

Initial success in Music came when Mia signed to Javo Records/SoSouth Music in 2009 after being discovered by Gospel Rap pioneer Lil' Raskull. Mia was later signed to a second label, and ultimately became an independent artist with a Positive Pop sound through the launch of the single 'Good Girl'. Mia's lead Positive Pop single 'Dynamite Love' appears on the TV show 'Vida' on STARZ and was a finalist in the EDM category of the 2017 International Songwriting Competition, judged by names such as Natalie Grant, Lord, and Ziggy Marley. Signed to East Coast Talent Agency as an actress, Mia landed her first role in Television on the Oprah Winfrey show 'Greenleaf', and has appeared in over 20 Fim & TV projects since 2018.
