Music has always been an outlet to express oneself for California native Donald Burnett, and since his early teens he has explored every side of the sonic spectrum. After gaining notability as a front-man for a local hardcore band during his high school days, and later honing his wordplay within Sacramento's hip hop scene, he went on to study audio engineering, where his love for music production officially sparked. In 2015, Donald wrote his first compositions as Miagma, a fruitful attempt in bringing together his past influences and his affinity for electronic music - an evergrowing obsession he's had since school. 2016 saw Miagma with his first pressing (as the cosmic B-side to DJ Boring's smash hit 'Winona'), and not long afterwards came a string of releases, including tracks on Budpest label Blorp and French label Northern Echoes. In 2017, Donald started his cheekily titled imprint Not Safe For Wax, and released the successful 'Her Palms' EP. This release kicked off Miagma's career as a DJ, and soon he was playing alongside the likes of Taraval, Physical Therapy, & Justin Martin. Miagma has since continued to dig deeper into his palette and plunged into the realm of techno, reveling in a deep, polished & percussive groove. He's known for his bristling energy and positively infectious presence, whether it's behind the decks or during one of his otherworldly live sets. He's recently started a second label, Looseneck Records, which is focused on this evolved sound.
