MICHA VOLDERS & MIET WARLOP PRESENT ‘ICCHĀ’.
Balancing experimental electronica, angular wave and powerful chants, ‘ICCHĀ’ is a frenzied sonic fusion between Belgium and Bangladesh. Stemming from their monumental performance ‘Chant For Hope’ (2023), which showcased native artists from Dhaka, ‘ICCHĀ’ revolves around the musical cadence and rich heritage of the Bengali language. A powerful and uncompromising journey, ‘ICCHĀ’ offers a captivating soundworld with angular drumming and vocals that oscillate in mantra-like repetitions. The album features the performances of slam poet Shayer Noor, the energetic Muhammad Shanto, and the Chittagonian-spirited Tanny Das Gupta as protagonists,
navigating the vibrant frenzy of Dhaka.
Micha Volders is a Belgian music producer, musician and visual artist. He works eclectically, while seeking to distill an aesthetic from chaos and broken sounds, using homemade or modified equipment and unconventional recording methods. With a background in film, Volders often places his music in a visual context, aiming to create tangible and believable soundworlds. Volders has toured extensively over the years with various projects such as Vermin Twins and Meteor Musik, playing venues and festivals across Europe. In addition to his own projects, he is also a favored producer for maverick artists such as Miet Warlop, Gruppo Di Pawlowski and The Germans. Volders has been releasing his work under his own label, Mutropia, since 2021.
