Matthew Oliver, known as Michael Bars, is a South African rapper and producer born on February 22, 2002. His 2020 track "Pac-Man," dedicated to Manny Pacquiao, gained significant attention and was featured on Pacquiao's YouTube channel. This led to a collaboration with Filipino rap legend Loonie on Bars' third album "Breaking Bad" and a 2 year distribution deal with Sony Music Entertainment.
Later in 2020, Bars teamed up with Ez Mil to form "Team Panalo" and released "Victorious", inspired by Ez Mil's track "Panalo". Bars produced "Podium" for Ez Mil's album "DU4LI7Y: Redux," which included "Realest" featuring Eminem, making him the first South African to produce a record distributed by all 3 major labels.
On December 3, 2024, Bars and Ez Mil opened for Akon at the Super Fan Tour in the Philippines along side Flow G, Gloc 9, Pablo of SB19, and LUCAS. That week, Bars partnered with Filipino rap legend Omar Baliw and they aim to introduce the clothing brand HGHMNDS to Africa.
