Electronic-Jazz musician Michael Diamond seeks to learn more about the world and himself through music.
His story begins as a fresher at Oxford, where he met saxophonist and long-time collaborator Alex Wilson. The pair have since released several records together, which were praised by major publications such as DJ Mag, Mixmag, Bandcamp Daily, & Ransom Note. Their most recent output - the emotive concept album 'Third Culture' - ranked among 2022's best albums at Stamp The Wax, Juno Daily, Phonica, and was stocked at the world's finest record stores such as Hard Wax, Clone (staff pick), Phonica, Rough Trade and more.
His live and hybrid DJ-saxophone performances have graced clubs, festivals and radio stations worldwide - being a frequent guest on Rinse FM, HOR, and resident at one of the UK's longest-established nights 'Simple', playing alongside the world's finest DJs including Ben UFO, Batu, Call Super, DJ Stingray, Peach etc. His releases have been played across all BBC channels, NTS, Worldwide FM, Balamii and more.
In addition to his music work, he sidelines as a medical doctor and an enthusiastic researcher, working closely with Oxford University's Research Centre in the Humanities (TORCH). His academic interests lie at the intersection between music, neuropsychology and medicine. Hailed as 'one to watch' by DJ Mag and a 'Future Bubbler' by Gilles Peterson and Brownswood Music, the future looks like it will shine bright for this Diamond ✧
