A song can be devastating.
A vibe, a groove, a beat, a hook, a melody, a lyric...devastating.
Of course, it depends on what your personal definition of “devastation” is.
And perhaps that’s why it’s so universal...it doesn’t judge. It doesn’t segregate. It doesn’t divide.
Anyone, from anywhere, from any walk of life can listen to any genre, from any artist, from any culture and glean insight, education, and wisdom.
Life, after all, is about rhythm. As the legendary James Brown said, “Everything is drums”. Look at the universe...the solar system. What do you see? It’s not chaos...there’s order. There’s precision. There’s rhythm.
Sure, life can get chaotic...life can get messy.
But amidst the chaos can come great art. The struggle can produce authentic art. Like throwing punches under water, overcoming the depths can produce great records.
