Michael Kollwitz is an award-winning Billboard-charting artist and one of the earliest pioneers of the Chapman Stick®, a groundbreaking stringed instrument that blends guitar, bass, keys, and percussion—played more like a piano than a guitar. Known for its expressive and meditative sound, Michael has released over 30 independent albums in genres ranging from New Age to Contemporary Instrumental.
His albums Serenity II, Serenity III, and Santa Plays The Stick all reached the Top 10 on Billboard’s New Age Album Chart, with Santa Plays The Stick winning Best Holiday Album of 2019 from Zone Music Reporter. His music is featured on The CARE Channel in over 1,000 hospitals, as well as in spas, airlines, and healing environments worldwide.
In 2025, the album 'Stick Around' was honored with a Silver Medal for Creativity & Originality by the Global Music Awards, and his latest album 'Aerial View' releases on July 11, 2025.

He is also the author of 'Stick With It: Adventures of a Chapman Stick Player', a memoir chronicling his early journey with the instrument’s inventor, Emmett Chapman.
