Michael Plishka

Michael Plishka has been entrancing and amazing fans with his woven aural mindscapes. His music is shaped by curiosity - exploring sounds and the human soul. He has 12 years of touring with alternative bands in the Midwest, a background in Ukrainian liturgical chant, and relishes creating poetic lyrics. On stage, with a band or solo, his music is punctuated by percussive guitar accents and looping technology. In the studio, Plishka plays with the fusion of genres, enjoying creating sounds of syncopation and serendipity. "I let the muse take me where it will," says Plishka, "it's not unusual for me to start a song in one genre and have it morph into something else entirely by the time it's released. Nothing is off limits. Country, glitch hop, alternative, DnB, Ambient, Singer-Songwriter... I'm not afraid to experiment and do what sounds good to me. I'm blown away by how much I can do on my laptop with Ableton compared to the standalone multitrack device I first used. It's an experimenter's dream! I can do so much more with less, and getting into flow making music lights me up. My hope is that in listening to my music, you'll look at yourself and feel what I feel."

Plishka is also a photographer, painter, designer and creative with over 20 patents to his name internationally. He loves playing goalie in hockey/soccer and an occasional luge run.
