Before winning over fans and the judges on Season 11 of The Voice, Michael spent nearly two decades developing his unique sound. Born and raised in San Diego, Michael began singing just after he learned to walk. By the time he was in high school, Michael was a budding piano player, and his band was playing at various hot spots around the city. When the group disbanded, Michael struck out on his own, developing his signature style as a frequent headliner at high end restaurants and piano bars across Southern California.
Michael joined the Voice on season 11 as part of Alicia Keys’ team, where he won a memorable battle round that left all four judges on their feet. Over the years Michael has traveled across the world as a featured vocalist, playing on cruise ships, singing with choirs and orchestras, and on one occasion performing at the legendary Carnegie Hall. He is happily married to his college sweetheart and is the father of two adorable boys.
