Michael Schreiber started DJing in the late 90's as resident DJ of the well known night bar / club "Deelight" in Frankfurt am Main under his pseudonym "KING DK". His first release "Can't read your mind" on Black Vinyl Records quickly became a soulful vocal house gem and was signed to various samplers like Hed Kandi and others. After the great start he kept the bar high and worked the following years with singers like Keith Thompson and Wunmi and remixed big names such as Robert Owens and Ralf Gum.
In 2014, he launched a new project called re:deep, in which he revealed a more thoughtful facet of himself. To give his creativity the necessary space, he simultaneously founded his label VORDERGRUNDMUSIK, on which he subsequently released his first long player "in between" on vinyl.
What began as a playground for his own creative output, quickly evolved into a platform for like-minded producers like Rittik Wystup, Martin Merz and Kawatin. Besides its own terrific crew, the label's portfolio also includes numerous remixes by notable artists such as Extrawelt, Timo Maas, Riva Starr and many more.
It almost seems as if he has to set off for new shores around every decade. So in 2022, he returns to the floor as no one else but himself – Michael Schreiber and brought his rather club oriented „Repetitive Strukturen“ series to life. Simplicity is key here, he focuses on matching gnarling, resonating basslines with dubby synths and a sharp kick. Nothing more, nothing less.
