Michela Musolino

Michela Musolino is an internationally recognized Sicilian-American singer. The grand-daughter of Sicilians immigrated to America, she explores her cultural roots through the study and reinterpretation of the folk songs of Sicily and Southern Italy.

Having grown up listening to music from two worlds, Musolino now weaves ancient and modern melodies in her performances and enchants with a voice that seems to float between the ages. She is excited to share with her audiences current projects ranging from musical journeys with traditional and contemporary Sicilian and Southern Italian folk songs to excursions delving into the musical connections between Sicily the US.

Musolino performs throughout Italy and the USA in such landmark venues as
the Old Town School, Chicago, St. Markʼs Church in the Bowery, NYC , the Yale School of Music; The Casa Italiana Zerilli Marimò at NYU; Ashkenaz in Berkeley, CA; and the MultiCultural Center in Santa Barbara, CA; in Italy at the Biblioteca Statale in Cremona;in The Castello Normanno Svevo. She was an Artist-in-Residence at the Middlebury Italian Language School and was frequent participant in “Memoria di Pino Veneziano,” the summer arts and cultural festival held annually in the temples in Selinunte, Sicily. At the Invitation of the National Council on the Traditional Arts, she has performed at the 2019 Montana Folk Festival in Butte, Montana and at the 2021 Richmond Folk Festival.
