Michele Maffei

Michele was born and raised along the beautiful Ligurian coast, Italy, and still lives there, in Genoa.

He grew up in the era of walkmans and VHS tapes and music was his second skin from the age of eight, when he started studying classical piano, until the age of fourteen, when he switched to guitar driven by the love for heroes like David Gilmour, Brian May and The Edge first and then, after hearing the song "Rubina" played live by a local band (circa 1993), the amazing Joe Satriani.

He played in several local bands, starting with a progressive one called "Progressiva", until the early 2000s, when he joined several hard rock and aor projects that led him to play and record studio works in the United States and Germany.

In 2013 he started his personal instrumental project, always keeping in mind his love for Pink Floyd, Queen, U2, Satriani and melody in general, and it is from here that his first solo album "Your secret place" was born, a synthesis of what music represents for him.
