Michiel Wiering

Michiel Wiering (1959) is a Dutch blues, rock, and soul musician. As an artist and songwriter he is predominantly inspired and influenced by music from the 60s & 70s. Wiering composes his own music and lyrics, and plays, sings, records, engineers, and produces all songs himself. His work features a fresh and lyrical mix of classic and modern music styles.
Wiering’s adventure in music started in the mid 70s when he joined the school band. After teaching himself to play the guitar, he pursued with piano and scores of other instruments. Since then, he evolved as a sought-after musician and musical technician, playing with numerous bands and artists, including some pretty famous ones. In his current work Michiel finally takes time to invest in his own tracks. Abandoning a past plagued by autism and shyness, he started singing and adding his own voice to his lyrics. Complemented by his excellent virtuoso guitar work, this has culminated into a powerful and authentic sound. Wiering is also a skilled technician and instrument builder.
