Micimago

Malta based artist Micimago got into producing after stumbling upon a music making software in 2012 at the same time of hearing Avicii’s hit single ‘Levels’. This quickly led to the realisation that producing music is very accessible and can be done simply with a computer.

By releasing genre-defying singles such as Place, Far, Do It Right and Lift You Up, Micimago showcases his diverse production skills which span across multiple genres. Several chart-topping singles led him to winning three awards - the LMA for Best Dance Track with ‘Place’ and Best Dance Artist at the BMA’s and the MMA’s - cementing his name in Malta’s music scene.

Micimago’s finesse is combining sounds from different backgrounds in a way that can work together and sound fresh, such as blending a full brass section with heavy hitting electronic drums, as done in his single ‘Do It Right’.

With his constant desire to test different waters, Micimago is currently collaborating with several artists producing music to be released under his own name, and even producing for other artists.

Apart from his solo project, he is also 1/4 of a collaborative project that is MTEAM alongside Matthew James, Mr.M and Kugene.

His tastemaking abilities can be seen during his DJ performances and during his weekly radio show on Malta’s no.1 radio station 89.7 Bay.
