John and Jocelyn met in Toronto, ON while they were studying at the same university. They quickly fell in love with each other. They shared the same passion for art and music, and they were both multi-instrumentalists. John is an American citizen who moved to Calgary, AB with his parents when he was 12 years old. Jocelyn is a Prince Albert, SK resident who grew up on a farm. After graduating, they first lived in Vancouver, BC where they spent a few years before re-locating to Saskatoon, SK.
In 2023 they got married. The very next day they formed "Midnight In Saskatchewan". For John and Jocelyn, songwriting is an act of raw vulnerability and quiet rebellion. Their music is oftentimes emotional and anthemic and emerges from the tension between the chaos of modern life and the solace they find in artistry’s gentle corners. At its core, their work is driven by a desire to name the unspoken—to give voice to the anxieties, connections, and quiet triumphs that shape their lives and the world around them.
“We mainly write to turn isolation into communion,” explains Jocelyn Stewart. “When a stranger hears their secret fears in our chords or finds courage in our crescendos—that’s when the song truly defines itself.”
In a fractured world, Midnight In Saskatchewan crafts music that doesn’t just resonate—it reaches.
