Based on the East Coast in Virginia, Connor Burnett decided to start the project “Midnight Jaguar” in 2018. He grew up listening to R&B/Pop on his Mom’s side with artists like Fergie, Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, and Justin Bieber. At the same time he was exposed to acts like the Foo Fighters, The Beatles, Nirvana, and The Smiths on the weekends he spent with his Dad. As he got older he found himself sneaking on to his step-dads laptop late at night because it had Garageband installed. It all started as fun EDM music for himself but later became a genuine interest. His music would start to blend Electronic synths and drums washed in reverb, with Pop inspired vocal melodies that are drowned in delay. This sound begins to appear on the first official Midnight Jaguar album, “I’m Not Good At Speaking, But I Love When We Talk” released in early 2020. Finding himself inspired by the electronic and garage scene in the UK, Connor later went on to release an EP featuring the songs “Shoulder Rock” and “Adulthood”. The EP is surrounded by subtle hints at Radiohead while also taking nods at David Bowie. Both songs display a more somber and gentle approach while introducing more live playing styles.
