Krikor Daglian and Krisana Soponpong met in the basement of a Lower East Side tenement building when their bands heard each other playing through the walls, loved it and decided they needed to meet. A friendship ensued between Kris and Krikor as they pursued their separate projects, little releasing that a decade later they would find themselves at the end of the road with their current bands and ready to try something different.
As New York City, and soon the world, suddenly found itself locked down due to COVID-19, Kris and Krikor started sending each other tracks they had been working on. Collaborating remotely, they pursued a sound that mixed 90s alt rock with their love of dance and electronic music and current day pop. Inspired by a range of artists such as LCD Soundsystem, CHVCHES, The Rapture, Phoenix, Sophie, Bloc Party, Tegan and Sara, and Daft Punk. Midnight Machines are constantly on the hunt for new inspiration.
As the world re-opens, Midnight Machines is excited to get their music out there for everyone who is ready to dance.
