midnight melodrama is a three-member band based in the Philippines. On May 28, 2023, Vhinz Ondrade (vocals, songwriting) had the idea to form a homemade band, which then led him to invite his friends Neil Xyrone Balmeo (drums) and Mico Josh Cabatuando (bass) to become his bandmates.
The band's songs are primarily written, produced, and arranged by Vhinz Ondrade, who also takes the lead in creating their video content, artwork, and other creative projects.
Midnight, as the band believes, is the time when most of us let ourselves unclothe and see our true, naked selves. It is also at midnight that people find themselves most vulnerable to all the feelings and emotions they want and should feel, neither pleasant nor bad. Melodrama, however, based on its literal definition, is a dramatic work with exaggerated, sensational events and characters. In the sense that midnight lets emotions unfold and melodrama evokes striking emotions, midnight melodrama's goal is to let everyone express all their sentiments and celebrate their individuality through the band's music.
