We are Midnight Static, a modern blues band inspired by the sound and style of the blues and swing music of the 1950s and 1960s.

Vocals sit at the centre of what we do. Steve delivers lead vocals with a warm, classic baritone, while Tom, who also handles piano and organ duties, shares lead vocals and harmony parts influenced by crooners and early soul singers. Together, our vocal approach blends storytelling, tone, and understated emotion.
The rhythm section keeps everything grounded and intentional. Bill anchors the band on upright bass, drawing from jazz and blues traditions, while Dan plays drums and percussion with a swing-first mindset, favouring brushes, light touch and natural tempo movement. Every Midnight Static recording is built around simplicity and authenticity (upright bass, piano and organ, brushed drums, and subtle textures) captured as close to live as possible.
