Offering a Midwest version of the bouncing beats and gruff vocals of the Dirty South scene, Midwikid came out of Indiana in 2002 to drop their first record. Consisting of rappers M.A.G. and B12, the group came out of Michigan City, IN, at the turn of the century with a set of stark rhymes that reflected their small-town origins. Their demo ended up at Arista Records at the end of 2001, and by the next year they had signed to the label and were releasing their debut in the spring. Titled Something Wikid This Way Comes, the record included beats from L.A. Reid and Kay Gee, but mostly featured producer Rated X, another homegrown Indiana talent. ~ Bradley Torreano, Rovi
