Mie (pronounced “mEE”) is a Milwaukee-based singer-songwriter and producer whose raw storytelling and genre-blending sound resonate deeply with listeners. Known offstage as Maggie Schmidt, she transforms personal experiences of trauma, healing, and self-discovery into powerful, soul-baring songs. Inspired by artists like Jewel, Adele, and Alicia Keys, Mie weaves electropop, blues, folk, and Americana into a style all her own.
Her debut Alchemie EP (2021) introduced her as a rising voice in indie music, and she’s since graced stages like Summerfest, SoFar Sounds, and American Family Field, as well as Milwaukee PBS’s Rhythm Café.
On November 1, 2025, Mie will release her highly anticipated new EP, The Cave—a bold, transformative body of work arriving alongside her debut European tour. With this release, Mie continues to captivate audiences by turning life’s deepest struggles into music that feels both intimate and universal.
