Miguel Escobar is a young, independent artist based in Miami, Florida who at just eighteen years of age has already soaked up much experience in both performance and music creation. Miguel was born in Medellin, Colombia, and his music is inspired by modern day pop and traditional Hispanic music. Miguel was classically trained using the practical method of Italian singing before transitioning to more modern music. This training has helped him in his development as a mariachi singer and musical theater performer. He was also part of a program at the Berklee School of Music dedicated to the development of vocal techniques used in modern day pop and rock.
Throughout his young career in musical theater, Miguel has starred in various productions including Lés Miserables, Mean Girls the Musical, and Mamma Mia. Miguel has also gone on to win several awards at the state level for his involvement and performance of musical theater pieces.
Besides these, Miguel has had the opportunity to perform at various events at the Colombian Consulate in Miami and at various talent competitions throughout South Florida including the Young Talent Big Dreams contest in which he was one of five finalists. During the past year, Miguel has worked at YMU (Young Musicians Unite) Studio to release his first demo in four years. He wrote and produced “Polaroid,” intending it to be his artistic breakthrough.
