Miguel St. Michael is the musical moniker of Mexican-American singer-songwriter, filmmaker, and fashion designer Luis Miguel Ramírez. Raised in the Rio Grande Valley and based in Austin, Texas his journey began as the frontman of the Latin Alternative band, Son de Rey.
With Son de Rey, Miguel St. Michael achieved acclaim in the Texas music scene sharing the stage with AB Quintanilla & the Kumbia All Stars, Gina Chavez, La Mafia, El Gran Silencio, The Tiarras, Como Las Movies, & More. They released the "Ojos Azules - EP" (2012) and Album (2015) while earning multiple nominations at the Austin Music Awards.
Miguel St. Michael showcases a bright, lyric tenor vocal range, skillfully blending chest and falsetto techniques in his performances. His unique tone merges elements of R&B, Pop, and Mexican influences including Selena, Kumbia Kings, and Juan Gabriel to contemporary pop artists Justin Timberlake and Lenny Kravitz. Inspired by Selena's music and motivation to learn Spanish, Miguel earned a master's degree in Spanish Language and Culture from The University of Salamanca in Spain.
Miguel now embraces his solo career with fervor, collaborating with GRAMMY winner Fabian Hernandez on his debut album Entre Luces that includes a vibrant mosaic of Latin, Urbana Pop, and Rock influences.
