Born to a Dominican family in NYC and raised in Florida, the performer and painter began her artistic career in childhood; her roots in musical theater provided her a strong foundation for her artist project, to which she brings the same dramatic flair. A true holistic artist, she puts thought and care into every aspect of her project from music, to visuals, to content rollout, to live. With colorful, hyperbolic lyrics delivered on the backdrop of her maximalist, fusion beats created in collaboration with members of her family, Mijita's music is the perfect soundtrack to any twenty-something figuring it out and shaking ass as they go.
