Mike Maksosa - a rapper, singer, songwriter, producer - arose from the D.C. suburb underground scene with dozens of independent singles and albums, all of which made freely available.
What separates Mike from the conventional hip-hop scene is his dynamic contrast of rhythmic hooks, ultra-fast flows and surreal lyrics. We find a stark comparison in his emotion inducing songs such as 'Fiji' and 'Farenheight', to the humorous and upbeat flows heard in 'Granada Freestyle'. Unconventional to other artists in his era, he currently prefers to stay out of the limelight - when hinting at a reasoning his response was, "I'm just spending time with grandparents and putting my education first for now.
