Mike is from Georgia, in the USA. He isn't Irish, but heard traditional Irish and Scottish music in college, and fell in love with it. Another musician put him on the path to learning it, and since then he has performed with bands for concerts and dances in venues around the Southeast USA, and in music sessions around the world. He obtained a TTCT certification on Irish fiddle in 2005, and is still playing traditional music on fiddle, flute, guitar, bodhran, and tin whistle. 'Other Forms of Magic', released in 2009, was a great learning experience, but one of these days he hopes to get around to making another album. Mike currently lives on the Atlanta east side.
