Mikey Gems was born and raised in the Bronx, New York, where his love for raw beats and sharp lyricism took root. Now based in Lynn, Massachusetts, he channels that Bronx energy into every track — fearless, authentic, and always evolving.
Emerging as a force in the underground, Gems made his name with sampled-drill singles and independent projects like Cause Your Effect (2020). In 2021, he turned heads remixing B-Lovee’s “IYKYK” and dropping 11 singles that showcased his bar work and charisma.
By 2022, he kept the momentum going with 13 singles, the MMBD album We Will Win!, and solo drops Beauty in the Beats and Drillogy. In 2023, he introduced Nellyana to the scene with “WETTY!” and teamed up on “Who’s Hot?” and “Freaky.” He scored an international hit with “Don’t Let Me Down! – Funk Rave Remix,” plus anthems like “BORN TO BALL” and “Always – Remix,” before dropping the surprise single “I’m Really Like That!” ahead of his 5th dance album Change Of Heart.
2024 showed his range with Sex Money Gems, a bold sexy-drill album, and the hoodtrap statement To Each Its Own. Now in 2025, Gems is only getting better musically — dropping Sex Money Gems 2, a 20-track follow-up that finds him fully at his creative peak: Bronx-born, Lynn-based, and making the best music of his life.
