Formed in 2017 Miklagård is a rock band based in Stockholm, Sweden. Miklagård is the old name of city of Istanbul bridging the Europe to Asia. The band does not limit itself to a single language, but currently the repertoire includes songs both in English and Turkish. The band’s first released single is an Anatolian rock cover of an old traditional Turkish folk song.
In 2019, the band members shifted their initial aim of being a cover band. The current motivation of the band is to compose their own songs with the aim of enriching the western Rock music by adding eastern nuances in a unique fashion. At the moment the band members are in the recording stage of their first album which consists of their own compositions and lyrics in English and Turkish.
