Known as her alias Mikutan online, Jessica Nash is a vocalist that covers songs ranging from anime, to k-pop, to alternative music. Jessica’s YouTube account itsmikutan has more than 15 million views. Her most popular cover is an English version of Madoka Majica’s opening by Claris, “CONNECT” with more than 1 million views and counting. She began on YouTube in 2008 by stepping her foot into the youtaite community (the YouTube version of NicoDouga’s “utaite”) by singing popular VOCALOID songs such as Kokoro, Love is War, and World is Mine.
She began studying voice at a very young age, and continued her lessons through college. She is currently a voice student studying Commercial and Electronic Music, Japanese, and Marketing. Not only does she have a experience singing, recording, and mixing, she also has been studying Japanese for 5 years. In 2015 she studied a year abroad at a university in Tokyo, Japan. With her in Japanese studies and vocal training, Jessica has been quite successful with not only her English covers but also her Japanese covers as well. Because she enjoys singing and recording Japanese songs so much, she has quite a few cover songs have been released in both Japanese and English.
