Like many people in their forties, Milan Mes (born in 1981 and now a trumpet player, producer, and singer) found himself plunged into a serious midlife crisis. This led him to seriously recalibrate his musical identity. After endless wanderings through various musical styles, he noticed that he felt most at home with the Gipsy Rave. This unique blend of energetic rave, folkloric melodies, and balkan brass music gives Milan a sense of belonging again. That is why he sees himself as a Gypsy Raver and wants to make his own contribution to the "Elektronische Volksmuzik". Just as drums and horns once formed the musical foundation for many traditional festivities, Milan Mes will bring this proven concept back to life in its own unique way.
In 2009 Mes won the Best Musician Award of the Grote Prijs of The Netherlands. The same year he won the award for most innovative music, the Jur Naessens music prize with his music theatre group Project Wildeman.
