Canadian pop-punk and emo band Milhowse was formed in Kitchener in 2017 by friends Ian Willcock and Tobias Salter in their church basement. After a couple of one-off drummers, they recruited Jayden Karger, with whom they recorded two EPs and a single with. Coming out of the pandemic, the band parted ways with Jayden and recruited Daniel Queiroz de Souza on the drums. Later on, the lineup changed again with Ryan Little joining the band on bass and Simon Johansson joining the band on drums, whom they are currently in the process of recording their debut studio album with.

Milhowse's style is reminiscent of blink-182, from the catchy riffs and sing-along melodies while taking inspiration from other bands such as Green Day, Sum 41, Modern Baseball, and Brand New. 2022's "Girls, Girls, Girls (Nothing Lasts Forever)" was described by guitarist and singer Ian Willcock as "TOYPAJ-era blink singing 'Your Graduation' by Modern Baseball", who himself sounds like a combination of the two bands when he sings. Lead guitar player and singer Tobias Salter brings a new level of depth to each song with his exquisite, octave-drive guitar lines and ears for harmony, while Ryan backs up the songs with punchy bass lines and even punchier Hawaiian shirts. Simon Johansson- though new to the band- is already making an impact with his technical skills and ability to adapt and improvise within the band.
