Mindseed

Although Mindseed's songwriting is rooted in alternative music with a hook, they do not refrain from drawing on elements of hip-hop/rap, punk, electronic and world music for a unique experience.

Mindseed has opened for hip-hop star Tyga as well as pop-punk legends MxPx. Based in Calgary, AB, Canada.

Mindseed's debut album Households (2016) stood as a collection of pop-punk/alternative songs inspired by acts like Blink-182 and System Of A Down. However, hip-hop lyricism and phrasing inspired by acts like Eminem and Ice Cube were utilized in certain tracks (Crazy By Design, Yuuwii Choow!!) with musical influences including emo (Households), blues (Chasing Chemicals) and polka (Parental Guidance).

Earning a nomination for Best Alternative Recording of the Year at the 2017 YYC Music Awards, Mindseed was inspired to evolve onward. In December of 2017 they released Braggadocious, a hip-hop focused track inspired by acts like Run DMC and The Beastie Boys.

Mindseed's EP Renovations (2019) saw a progression from the fundamental sound of their debut album, but with more of an emphasis on progressive songwriting and hip-hop/dance influence, best exemplified in the lead single Reflections.

Mindseed released their sophomore album Lockdown in 2021 and were nominated for Best Alternative Recording at the 2021 YYC Music Awards.
