Born in Brooklyn, New York, Some of his musical influences are El Gran Combo, Willie Rosario, Bobby Valentin, Puerto Rico All Stars, La Sonora Ponceña, Ray Barretto, Eddie Palmieri, Tito Allen, Ruben Blades, Oscar D’ Leon, Gilberto Santa Rosa, Lalo Rodriguez, Ray De La Paz, Jose Alberto “El Canario”, Raulin Rosendo & Rafael De Jesus. According to Mingo B, “His song selections are a tribute to the style of Salsa music that ignited the initial desire to create and record Salsa music”.


For many years, Mingo B sang and performed with his previous band known as “La Salsa Dura”. During that time, he composed several original songs, reflecting themes like growing up in the city, and his commitment to his family.
In addition to singing, much of Mingo B’s time is spent in his recording studio, where he works on production and engineering, for both personal and client-based recordings.
