For Minnkandi, music became a refuge and her most honest language from an early age. She began taking piano and guitar lessons, exploring composition as a way to understand what she couldn’t yet put into words. In her teenage years, she formed her first bands, stepping into the role of vocalist and guitarist, and channeling through those early songs her reflections on vulnerability, solitude, and the search for meaning.
Years later, that path led her to share her musical universe with her sister Ámbar, her current producer and creative accomplice.
With The Cure, Radiohead, and Muse as her sonic compass, Minnkandi shaped an introspective, melancholic, and deeply human sound. Her influences extend to Deftones, Sleep Token, Bilmuri, and Loathe, weaving in denser textures and immersive atmospheres.
Following the release of her debut single “770 (drive me home)”, Minnkandi reopens her musical portal with “Lacul Rosu”, a deeper journey to the root of her sound. Born from longing and the search for refuge in a magical, desolate, and deeply symbolic place, the song draws inspiration from Romania’s enigmatic Red Lake. Minnkandi transforms that haunting landscape into a metaphor for her inner world, a space where she dwells among the shadows, exploring the hidden parts of herself and finding beauty where others might see only darkness.
