Minorfauna

Minorfauna is Abbey Hansen. Originally from Yamba, and later the Gold Coast, Minorfauna was formed in Melbourne shortly after Abbey relocated to her forever home. Finding a groove in Melbourne’s diverse and eclectic local music scene, Minorfauna creates a macabre brand of Pop-RnB with wide ranges of influences from shoegaze to Country. A sound created as a vessel of expression, to address and process past experiences.

2020 is the year, Minorfauna comes through stronger and louder than ever before. Her debut EP, ‘Myself’ which was released in 2018, explored themes of betrayal, loss, the fantasies of vengeance and the looming doom such a pursuit can bring.
Her first release for the new decade ‘Cooler Than Me’ serves as an expansion in terms of her experimental, genre-bending sound while maintaining the cut-throat intention she's always had but with further conviction. Transforming dark reflections into comedic relief, Minorfauna has struck a balance in finding power from crappy experiences without compromising her ability to love and have fun.
