Originating from the land of ice and snow, Miskunn is a four-piece Icelandic metal band stationed in the volcanic Westman Islands, just south of the Icelandic mainland. Delivering fast, aggressive, explosive, and hard-hitting metal inspired by their volcanic and isolated environment, Miskunn aims to take the world by storm and revitalize the musical culture in the Westman Islands. Blending the intensity of new wave death metal with the soul of old-school thrash/death metal, Miskunn creates a unique and powerful sound.
Their debut album, Melancholia (2022), was recorded, produced, and mixed by band member Arnar Júlíusson, who spent over a year perfecting the album's sound. Following the release of Melancholia, the band continued to build momentum, and plans for new releases and touring began to take shape.
During the 2024 Sátan Festival, the band announced their name change to Miskunn on stage, thrilling fans with the news and the release of their highly anticipated EP, From Dusk, on June 7, 2024.
