My 15th studio album, "Speaking In Typos," is now available, as of July 30th, 2024. The final song on the album, "Move The World," brings me peace.
I just completed my first European tour! It was amazing! Now I'm working 75 hours per week to pay it off. Worth it.
Jimmy Fallon said, "Wait, give it a chance" before using Playing a Little Basketball on The Tonight Show...
"Regardless of whether you’re listening to an early Mission Man track recorded with bare bones equipment or a more recent, elaborate tune... one thing is for certain: you’re probably going to feel better afterward." - Emily Votaw WOUB
Fun hip-hop with influences ranging from Prince to the Beastie Boys and A Tribe Called Quest to the Talking Heads.
I started rapping in 1992, when a friend of mine told me to "kick a rap." In 1998, a friend told me that my recording setup "may work for what you do, but it won't work for music." so I learned to play instruments (drums, bass, guitar, keyboard).
In 1997, just before my 18th birthday, I sold my first self released album, Intro To My Mind, online at missionman.net, to a fan of mine who wrote me a check for $9 for the CD.
In 2018, a fan sent Playing a Little Basketball to The Tonight Show, where they used the song on air March 6th of that year.
I have made countless connections with incredible people because of my pursuit of music. It has saved my life, made the bad times easier to get through, and made the good times even better.
