Mistafil (real name Phil) is a Manchester-based DJ, producer, composer, and educator with deep roots in the UK drum and bass scene. As one half of the duo Locoda, he’s released music on leading labels including Viper Recordings, Code Recordings, Dirt Box Recordings & many more, gaining support from BBC Radio 1 and other major platforms.
Known for his ability to blend soulful musicality with high-energy production.
Phil has performed at a range of festivals including One Out Festival, One in the Woods, and various club nights across the UK. Whether in a packed tent or a late-night city set, he’s known for delivering a crafted mix of rollers, jungle, and dancefloor DnB that balances musicality with crowd-moving energy.
Beyond the stage and studio, Phil is a passionate music educator. He teaches DJing, production, and songwriting to students of all ages, and lectures at The Manchester College, sharing his industry knowledge and experience with the next generation of artists. His teaching reflects his own journey — creative, down-to-earth, and rooted in real-world practice.
Now pushing further under his solo alias Mistafil, Phil continues to collaborate with scene legends like Mark XTC, Bachelor’s of Science & many more. While developing new music and live sets that stay true to his love of the culture and its deeper sound. From Warrington backrooms to festival stages, it's always been about honest, powerful music — and Mistafil’s journey is just heating up.
