Mister You is a French rapper of Moroccan heritage who reached the Top Ten with his mixtape album Mec de Rue in 2010. Born Younes Latifi on February 5, 1984, in Paris, France, he grew up in the Belleville neighborhood. Prior to crossing over to mainstream success with Mec de Rue, he released the albums Cocktail de Rue (2007), La Rue C'est Paro (2008), and Arrête You Si Tu Peux (2009). The title of the latter translates to "Arrest You If You Can" and refers to the fact that Mister You had been on the run from the French police since 2007. He was eventually arrested on December 3, 2009, and was sentenced to prison for a drug-related offense. While in prison, the album Présumé Coupable (2010) was released. As of October 12, 2010, he was free to leave prison on a temporary basis, and it was at this time that Mec de Rue was released to Top Ten success. A mixtape album with contributions from more than a dozen rappers, it spawned the hit single "Ça Sort du Zoogataga," featuring Tunisiano and Isleym. ~ Jason Birchmeier, Rovi
