Airports to hotel rooms to recording studios and thousands of backstage green rooms, Mitch has seen his fair share!
A son of a bass player and a multi-instrumentalist musician of more than 20 years, he truly lives the touring and studio life! Having spent nearly two thirds of his life hanging in the background playing bass all over the world for some of Australia’s biggest artists, barely known artists and everything in between from Pop/Rock legends Leo Sayer, Russell Morris , Daryl Braithwaite, America and The Black Sorrows to internationally acclaimed virtuosos Adam Miller, Joe Robinson, Robinson, Phil Emmanuel, Bruce Mathiske, James Morrison to Country stars Adam Eckersley Band and Brooke McClymont. An in demand Record Producer, Mitch has produced 3 ARIA nominated and 2 ARIA winning records including Russell Morris’s platinum selling Blues Trilogy albums including the smash hit Sharkmouth .
Mitch states, “it’s not an easy task getting my favourite musicians in a room together! The hired guns are always on tour or I’ve hired them to play on someone else’s record. It’s often difficult too as an artist to find a creative outlet. As a musician, when you climb the ladder you eventually become more isolated and cut off from your peers. You find yourself just waiting for the big show, then in an hour or so it’s over and you’re back in a hotel room. Creativity takes a backseat”.
The After Hours Project is that backseat.
