M.J.H. Thompson

M.J.H. Thompson is Michiel Jan Hendrik Thompson, born 07/05/1998 in Oegstgeest, the Netherlands. He started playing music at the age of eleven and quickly started to devote most of his time to it. At age fourteen he started his first band called No Future Kids which went on to release an EP of old recordings many years later called ‘If punk rock wasn’t dead already, it certainly is now’. At age sixteen he started a band called KIEFF which produced a couple of EP’s and a full length album. KIEFF played a lot of shows throughout the Netherlands, UK and a little bit of Europe from 2015 until 2023 when the band disbanded. M.J.H. Thompson is also a profound home-recorder. His first release on his own was his album ‘Piano Impromptu vol. 1’ which was released in 2019. After that he went on to release various albums and EP’s in a variety of styles and genres but all wrapped in an absurdist, experimental coat. In 2023 he formed a band to perform his music with called M.J.H. Thompson Volksorkest. This band is currently working on their debut album. Michiel is also permanently working on new music on his own.
