Mkada is a South African-Australian rapper, songwriter and producer. Born in Cape Town, South Africa and raised in Melbourne’s south eastern suburb of Frankston.
Mkada has created a buzz with her unique style and ability to express herself through a diverse selection of sounds including; Hip-Hop, R&B, Low-Fi, Futuristic, Dancehall, and Afro-beat. Her talent has no limit.
At an early age, Mkada had a deep love and passion for music. Growing up, she was heavily inspired by Jazz, Hip-Hop, Soul, and Classical. Her songwriting journey started at age 19. While traveling to her soccer games, she would write songs as a means to calm her nerves before stepping out onto the soccer pitch. After realizing how impactful her lyricism truly was, she immersed herself into her craft, and hasn’t looked back since.
Being the natural entertainer that she is, Mkada has performed solo acts as well as support acts for artists such as Jacquees, Israel Cruz, Riff Raff, Y2, Iyla and Adrian Swish.
Mkada’s feel-good single ‘Rude Gyal’ featuring Australian artists, Adrian Swish and Slicker1, featured on the hit Australian Netflix series: ‘Heartbreak High’. Her music continues to thrive and embodies the energy of her as an artist. It’s fierce, it’s confident, it’s real, it’s giving you what you didn’t know you needed.
