MNR PLSR’s newest release “Lipstick” is a queer love song about the sexy moments right before your heart gets beautifully demolished. Penned and produced by this female indie-pop duo - Somer Bingham, notably shy about her previous life as a pop punk reality tv star, and Emily Einhorn, a world champion Irish dancer from the Midwest - "Lipstick" is a seductive, indie pop homage to the ex you can’t shake. When all the clothes come off and you've met your near-astrological match, what comes next?
Somer and Emily burst onto the NYC indie scene with a mutual thirst to write together after watching one another’s bands play at DIY Bushwick venues and Lower East Side dives. Catchy hooks, layered synths, and sexy drums came to define the vowel-less moniker MNR PLSR. On a day in the life of their home studio, Emily notes:
“We go back and forth between jokes and existential crisis. Our process is extremely creative and we can get pretty serious, but at the same we are constantly trying to make the other one laugh while in the vocal booth. Hand job pantomimes, boogers – nothing’s off the table.”
Together, MNR PLSR craft cool electro pop with moody undertones and infallible hooks. Their music has been featured in The CW’s “Dynasty” and Showtime;s “Penny Dreadful”, the critic-favorite “Madeline’s Madeline” (Sundance premiere 2018), and the award-winning feature film “Transference.” They are psyched for 2021.
